The newspaper Long Island Star Journal had seen a preview and commented "This may all sound and read like pretty slushy stuff and, at bottom, it is, but it's so very well done in every department that it comes out commercial drama of a very high type". Their description suggests that the original version of the episode was slightly different, as it ended with Boyer appearing in his dressing room and describing the next 3 episodes (this segment does not appear in this copy, and I have reasons to believe the segment was cut before the first broadcast).
